[Auto] Mercedes-Benz T-Class: Playful vans are going to be fashionable

The Mercedes-Benz Citan was one of the great surprises that the Stuttgart house gave at the beginning of the last decade. This model was born as a result of the collaboration agreement that Daimler AG signed with the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. In this way, the Gauls were guaranteed a partner who put part of the capital to give life to the Renault Kangoo. Furthermore, the Germans could jump right into a segment that was unknown to them.

This collaboration agreement was losing strength over time and we all feared for the new Citan. However, this section seems to be the only one that remains strong, because they have worked together to shape it. However, we did not expect to find the surprise that comes these days: as a result of this work a new star will be born: the Mercedes-Benz T-Class, the playful and adventurous sister of the Citan.

The Mercedes-Benz T-Class wants to be an alternative to the Berlingo and Rifter

The last time Mercedes-Benz did an experiment and created a new Class was with the "R". The result was not as successful as they expected, as it disappeared from the market without making much noise. Now, they take advantage of the pull that the Citroën Berlingo or Peugeot Rifter has to expand the Citan range. In this way, they will have a version intended to transport goods and another to serve a broader and more adventurous audience.

To announce the birth of the Mercedes-Benz T-Class, the German firm has released a teaser. In it we can only see the basic lines that define the limits of its bodywork and some tension line located on the side. We are aware that we are dealing with a mere sketch, but everything indicates that you will enjoy marked wheel arches. Maybe they are targeting crossover fashion offering off road aesthetics?

The new Mercedes-Benz T-Class is scheduled to hit the market in the first half of 2022. There is still a long time to go, but we are sure we will have new information and more data soon. The thing is to know how far it will differ from its Renault brother and if it will benefit from all the benefits of its platform, such as the 100 percent electric version.
