The Prime Minister noted that the relaunch of the economy was the main criterion for the selection of members of the ministerial cabinet

Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano referred to the appointment of Martín Ruggiero as Minister of Labor. Faced with criticism of Minister Ruggiero for his professional experience, Cateriano considered that the appointment of Ruggiero represents greater energy and action for the sector.

“Criticism, always well received, is part of and constructive criticism is necessary. But falling for false accusations or accusations based on lies and attacking is part of small politics. (...) The fact of having been a lawyer for a private company is not presumed to be criminal. (...) We need energy and action. This stage is going to require a lot of work and in that sense it is Ruggiero's challenge in the sector, ”said Cateriano on Canal N.

The Prime Minister defended his professional experience and identified him as a qualified person for the position. He also reiterated that his appointment was at his proposal.

"People who work in the private sector in the legal area have ties and upon assuming the position of Minister of State they have resigned their activities because otherwise they would incur incompatibilities. (...) Naturally, the appointment of Minister Ruggiero has been formalized today and the resignations are pending, "he said.

The prime minister revealed that the main criterion for the selection of members of the ministerial cabinet is to relaunch the economy, which has been hard hit by the pandemic.

"What I do believe in is private initiative as a source of wealth generation. Perhaps there is a greater emphasis on my side, I have discussed it with the president and he will not abandon social concern, "he said.
