The Generalitat de Catalunya has decided to tighten the restrictive measures to try to contain the coronavirus outbreak affecting the region of the Sery and, from this midnight, will impose a confinement close to that governed by the state of alarm in the city of Lleida and in seven other locations in the area -Alcarrs, Serós, Soses, Aitona, La Granja d'Escarp , Massalcoreig, Torres de Segre and the decentralized municipal units of Sucs and Raimat-, so that citizens should not leave their homes except for essential activities.

The new measures, which have been announced by the Ministry of Health, Alba Vergés, and the Conseller de Interior, Miquel Buch, include a ban on entering or leaving these municipalities, closing the hotel and catering establishments to the public, which can only serve "home delivery" products, and the prohibition of meetings "of more than ten people".

 

Vergés has explained that the po[CENSORED]tion must stay at home and go out alone to go to work, provided not when telework is not possible, and make necessities. The food stores will remain open, while in other shops the appointment will be necessary; Summer activity centres for children and young people will also remain open

 

Although the region of Segrio was already confined parimetrally since july 4, like five other counties in Aragon and another in Lugo, the eight affected po[CENSORED]tions will be, with the new restrictions imposed, the first in Spain to almost completely unsused the path of the descalada since the alarm state was raised. "The situation is one of the most complex in the whole country, now it depends on the people", acknowledged the consellera, when announcing the measures.
