-Sn!PeR- Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 Santa Fe redesigned inside and out More spacious, upscale interior Terrain mode for off-roading featured Due in showrooms late fall Current Santa Fe priced from $26,275 The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe sports a significantly changed exterior and interior design giving the 2-row midsize SUV more upscale appeal. This heavy redesign of the Santa Fe comes less than three years since the last makeover. The revisions land somewhere between a facelift and an all-new vehicle. “We modernized the New Santa Fe with premium features and appealing aesthetics that are sure to add value,” said SangYup Lee, Senior Vice President and head of Global Design Center. “The bold lines that extend from one side to the other and from front to back give Santa Fe a rugged yet refined look that SUV customers want. Besides, we’ve added numerous features and functions to create a truly family-focused SUV that is a pleasure to drive.” What’s different on the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe? The most apparent change on the 2021 Santa Fe is its new grille treatment which is larger and more horizontal in shape. The new grille extends nearly the full width of the nose with T-shaped LED daytime running lights extending up to the leading edge of the hood. Outboard headlamps complete the new look. The grille itself features different textures depending on trim level. A character line that connects the running lights with the LED taillamps tops the scalloped side panels. At the rear, a thin illuminated strip running across the tailgate connects the taillamps. The lower skid plate/diffuser design sports a full-length reflector. More spacious, upscale cabin Hyundai’s redesign of the 2021 Santa Fe incorporates an all-new cabin that’s larger and more upscale in execution. The Korean automaker says all surfaces are now covered with soft-touch materials. A taller and repositioned center console acts as an armchair rest for the front passengers. This new center console includes more storage space below and houses a new 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen. The console also houses a new shift-by-wire gear selector, new buttons, and controls for a Terrain mode selector. This knob allows the driver to select among drive settings for eco, sport, comfort, as well as sand, snow, and mud. There’s also a smart mode that automatically adapts the mode according to the driving style. Wider powertrain choices The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe will continue to offer a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine making 185 horsepower. An optional 2.0-liter turbo is available in higher trims. This engine produces 235 horsepower. Both engines mate to 8-speed transmissions. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants may appear for the first time on the new Santa Fe. How much will the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe cost? While pricing has not been announced, expect an increase over the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe, which starts at $26,275 for the base front-drive SE model with the 2.4-liter engine. The 2.4 SEL retails for $28,025 and the 2.4 Limited goes for $36,025. The 2.0T SEL starts at $34,875, while the top 2.0T Limited costs $37,875. AWD is $1,700 as is a $1,140 delivery charge. When will the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe go on sale? The new Santa Fe is expected in Hyundai showrooms late in the fourth quarter.
