The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela released a statement on Monday to denounce to the international community a new aggression organized from the territory of Colombia and planned by agents of the United States (USA), against peace, democracy and the sovereignty of that country. This new attack, the statement highlights, adds to the escalation of aggressive actions and provocations organized by the United States. against Venezuela, all this adds to the incessant wave of hostile statements by senior US officials. "The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela holds the governments of Donald Trump and Iván Duque responsible for the unpredictable and dangerous consequences of this wave of provocations and mercenary attacks against the Venezuelan people," they report. Likewise, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry alerts the Secretary General, the Security Council and other United Nations bodies to the escalation in violation of various human rights resolutions. In this sense, Venezuela warned about the use of mercenaries as a means to violate human rights and hinder the exercise of the right of peoples to self-determination.
