Goodbye to DS 3

DS Automobiles, the brand with premium positioning of the PSA Group, laid off its best-selling model in Argentina: the DS 3. This hatchback for Segment B (boy) was launched for sale in our market in January 2011 and is retiring with the last units in stock of the special series Cafe Racer, with a price of $ 26,351.

This model was commercialized in Argentina in two stages. Between 2010 and 2016 it was sold as "Citroën DS3". From 2016 onwards it was marketed as "DS 3".

It always arrived imported from France and for several years it was the best-selling model in Argentina in the niche known as "B Premium". Its most direct competitors in our country were the Alfa Romeo Mito, Audi A1 and Mini Cooper,

"With the DS 3 Café Racer, this successful model said goodbye, which gave such good results to the brand and garnered so much recognition from the public," said Gonzalo Cassina, director of DS Argentina. “It was a special edition, few vehicles, which is already reaching its end of commercialization. The DS 3 model was consolidated as the undisputed leader of the Segment B Hatch Premium in Argentina for the sixth consecutive year in 2019, ”added the executive in an interview with Autoblog (read full note).

In these 10 years of commercialization, Autoblog tested the DS3 in various versions, engines and levels of equipment. The first review was published in January 2011 and the most recent was in March 2018.

The DS 3 was discontinued in France last year and is still only in production, with CKD-type assembly, in Malaysia, although only for the domestic market in that country. It will not have a direct replacement in the DS range. The focus of this brand is now on SUVs (DS3 Crossback and DS7 Crossback) and sedans (DS9).
