Ford F-150 Lariat

In the last two months, Ford launched three of its most exclusive models for sale in Argentina. The 2020 F-150 Raptor and Mustang have already passed through the Autoblog garage (read reviews). And now it was the turn of the last to arrive: F-150 Lariat (see equipment and price).

This is the most luxurious version of Ford's full-size pick-up. While the F-150 Raptor bets on sportiness and showmanship, the Lariat offers a higher level of refinement and comfort, although it can also be used for work.

These days we went to Ford Argentina headquarters in Pacheco to exchange keys. We delivered the new 2020 Mustang GT after testing it for a week and took the F-150 Lariat with us.

These two Ford have a very important characteristic in common: they share the Coyote V8 5.0 gasoline block. It is a booster whose origins date back to 2011 and which, with successive updates, has already equipped different evolutions of the Mustang and the F-150, but also the Ford Falcon that was manufactured in Australia until four years ago and the new TVR English Griffith, which has just been released for sale in Europe.

In the 2020 Mustang, the Coyote V8 5.0 delivers 466 hp and 569 Nm of torque. And, on the F-150 Lariat, it produces 400 hp and 542 Nm. Beyond those differences, it is one of the most representative drivers of what big Yankee engines always were: lots of cylinders, big displacement, no turbos, and generous doses of power and torque.
