Ford GT arrives in Mexico

You could say then that this super sports car is the third generation of a legend that was born with the sole objective of annihilating Ferrari in the most prestigious race in the world, I refer of course to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. If you are not familiar with the subject, I highly recommend the Ford v Ferrari movie, which by the way has several Oscar nominations this year.

This third iteration was not born exclusively as a competition car, as it happened with the original GT40, however, it also had a variant that competed in the WEC GT category and which, like its predecessor, conquered Le Mans.

But returning to the street version that concerns us today, Ford originally announced an extremely limited production (500 units) for the new GT and on top of that, it would not be enough to have enough green tickets to get one, you had to enter a request on a site specialized in where a gigantic questionnaire had to be answered so that, with that information, the brand would assess whether the applicant would be worthy of owning a Ford GT or not.

Thousands worldwide applied, and were a handful of the privileged, although the brand reconsidered and announced an increase in production to 1,350 units, even so, very few compared to potential demand. Only in Mexico, and according to information provided by the brand, a list of about 120 potential buyers was generated, of which only 12 will receive their brand new Ford GT during this 2020.

In terms of specifications, the Ford GT uses a 3.5-liter V6 biturbo that delivers 645 hp that are sent to the rear axle via a seven-speed dual clutch transmission. Both monocoque and bodywork are made of carbon fiber, it has active aerodynamics and a gigantic carbon-ceramic brake system.

In this way, the Ford GT joins models such as Edge ST, Explorer ST, Mustang Shelby GT350 (unfortunately no longer available in Mexico), Mustang Shelby GT500 and Lobo Raptor, among others to the large family of sports of the brand called as Ford Performance

Ahh by the way, as merely cultural data and to satisfy all your doubts, the price of the Ford GT starts at 500 thousand dollars, but depending on the configuration chosen, that value can be increased very easily
