The Government halted the increases planned for January in highway and highway tolls

The Government decided to curb the increases in tolls rates on the national routes and access North, West and Riccheri to the City, planned for January 2020. The measure, which also joined the Government of the province of Buenos Aires , also froze the value of fares on Buenos Aires highways.

In this case, the measure involves routes such as 2, 11, 74, 56 and 53, in addition to the Buenos Aires La Plata highway, which are the most used by those who decide to spend their vacations or go to rest at The beach areas.

As reported in a statement, the freeze will continue until an assessment of the need and impact of a tariff update has been made, and new instances of dialogue with the concessionary companies will be opened.

The increases had been established by Mauricio Macri's management by January 2020 and, in some cases, represented increases of up to 186%.

It is not the first time that President Alberto Fernández or Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof decide to discontinue increases negotiated during the previous administration. Yesterday, the Head of State decided to stop the rise of 5% "for an indeterminate period" in the value of YPF gasoline. With the suspension of the increase, the liter of the Infinia gasoline (the premium of the company) was $ 61.64 in most of the service stations of the City of Buenos Aires, the Super at $ 53.34, the Infinia Diesel at $ 58.84 and the Diesel 500 at $ 49.94.

The Buenos Aires governor, meanwhile, stated in his economic emergency project that he still failed to approve in the legislature a 25% increase in energy rates authorized by María Eugenia Vidal. In addition, the initiative contemplated that all power distribution operators in the province of Buenos Aires will have their rates frozen for the next six months.
