Bournemouth, England (Reuters) - Pierre Emeric Obamyang scored the equalizer in the second half to give Arsenal, led by coach Miquel Arteta, a point in his first match at the head of the technical leadership of the team after Arsenal returned in the result after being late to a goal against Bournemouth in the English Premier League Thursday.

The two teams entered the match in light of their decline, with Bournemouth losing six of the last seven games, while Arsenal have scored one victory since beating Bournemouth 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium on October 6.

Arteta pushed Messaoud Ozil into the starting line-up and the German appeared in full focus at the start of the match, but despite Artita encouraging his players from the side lines of the stadium, Arsenal failed to create many opportunities.

Arsenal was punished for being lax after letting the ball into the left flank for Bournemouth to take advantage, midfielder Dan Gosling scored from close range and putting hospitality in front.

Arsenal equalized in the 63rd minute after Reyes Nelson hit the ball, crashing into a player, changing his direction, and getting to Aubameyang to put in the net and getting a yellow card because of the way he celebrated with the visiting fans.

The two teams then created some opportunities in the rain, but neither side was able to resolve the standoff.

Arsenal are 10th with 24 points, while Bournemouth is four points behind in 15th place.
