The 2010 Roland Garros champion also said that doctors told her that she overcame the disease and stressed that she is ready to face new projects. After a long time without making publications in their social networks, Schiavone, 39, reappeared with a message and a video in which he explains that his departure from the virtual world was due to the diagnosis he received months ago and to the therapies to which he submitted. "Hi all. After seven or eight months of silence on social networks and in the world, I want to share with you what happened to me: I was diagnosed with cancer, ”wrote the former tennis player, retired in 2018. Then, he stressed:“ I did chemotherapy, I fought A hard battle and I'm still breathing. I won the fight and I'm back in action. ” To that message, Schiavone accompanied him with a video in which he explains the details of the disease he went through (“I was diagnosed with a malignant tumor”) and which closes with an encouraging message: “I managed to win this battle. When they told me a few days ago, I exploded with happiness. Even today I live with happiness. I am ready to face new projects and some that I already had but could not do. See you soon, I'm happy with what I am today. ” Schiavone was one of the most outstanding WTA players in the first decade of the 2000s. Roland Garros won in 2010 and became fourth in the ranking. In total, he won eight singles titles and seven doubles titles. He retired at the end of 2018, after participating in the US Open. 3
