Flexoh Posted November 29, 2019 Posted November 29, 2019 The premiere of the new Davis Cup tennis format was full of emotions. Rafael Nadal assured the Salad Bowl for Spain on Sunday by defeating Canadian Denis Shapovalov in front of a public delivery in Madrid. His 6-3 7-6 victory (9-7 in the tie break) sealed a title that was also possible thanks to the previous triumph of Roberto Bautista Agut, on his return to the team three days after his father's death. Bautista Agut burst into tears after beating Felix Auger-Aliassime, 19, 7-6 (7-3) 6-3 in the first game of the day. Nadal's victory gave Spain an unattainable 2-0 lead over Canada and its sixth Davis Cup.
