It is not about infrastructures, but about relationships with those who were their campaign rivals, demonstrating that not because they are opposites they must be enemies.

Not a week has passed since López was elected as the new mayor of Bogotá - the first woman to arrive at that position by po[CENSORED]r election - and he already met with his contenders Carlos Fernando Galán, Miguel Uribe Turbay and Hollman Morris, as he showed on his Twitter

The idea was to listen in detail to the proposals that the ex-candidates had as a priority for the development of the capital, and to extend a dialogue with each of them so that these initiatives, which have as their goal the common good, can be carried out in the government from López.

This is how Galán let him see, for example, that after the visit of the elected mayor, he informed that they had reached the “commitment” to maintain a “permanent, frank and constructive” dialogue and made his government plan and even his work team.

The same happened with Uribe Turbay, who told him about his “priorities for Bogotá”. The former center-right candidate, who had the support of Senator Álvaro Uribe (of whom López is one of his opponents), said that "from the differences" will be close to building a better city. He even gave piano lessons.
Morris, meanwhile, did not rule on the meeting with Lopez. However, the incoming mayor said that they worked together in that meeting and stressed that "it is much more" in what they agree, and that is what they will move forward, "respecting the independence of their bench" and of course the of Senator Gustavo Petro, Morris's political godfather.
López had the same attitude with the current mayor Enrique Peñalosa, whom she criticized on different occasions. In her winning speech, for example, she dedicated a segment to tell her that she knew how to recognize what was going well and that she would expect that she would continue with those projects. However, they have had differences (such as the construction of Transmilenio on 68th Avenue) but they have been treated with height and respect.

This is totally contrary to the policy that the political leaders of the country had been doing that, instead of arranging ideas, attacked each other. Precisely, because of those type ‘if you are not with me, you are with my enemy’ is that there was talk of a polarization in the country, which Colombians so much rejected.

In that sense, Blu Radio stressed that this would be the first time, at least in recent history, when a winner in elections meets his rivals.

In this regard, Father Alberto Lienero, panelist of that station, stressed that López and the ex-candidates are “proving that politics can be done with respect” and that it is a message for all Colombians: “The important thing is to find what unites us , amid the differences. ”

For this reason, López's attitude, which journalist Néstor Morales called “political coexistence”, has been applauded by hundreds of Internet users, who did not even vote for her, since they consider that the elected mayor and her contenders are creating “a politics of height ”, which are no longer encouraging“ hatred ”and, above all, they are emphasizing that opposites must not be enemies and, on the contrary, can work together for the same purpose.
