The teacher duo returned to the country. And in times of cracks, they don't generate contradiction. Joan Manuel Serrat and Joaquín Sabina are adored and acclaimed by the Argentine public, who feels they are their own, after accompanying the journey of life with some of their songs.

The two music legends chatted alone with Teleshow. And among the complicit winks of almost three decades of friendship they confessed great news: after 20 years as a couple the Andalusian surprised his wife, Jimena Coronado, with a marriage proposal. Kneeling and alliance included, he declared. The poet of small things also comes with great family news, although for now he is prohibited from telling them. Seven years after their last show together in Buenos Aires, Serrat and Sabina will meet again tomorrow at the brand new Movistar Arena to present many of the themes that marked several generations. "Before leaving, I always believe that the public has too many expectations and that I will not be able to meet them," confesses Sabina, stating that her favorite moment in the shows is saying goodbye, when everything went well, because it is a lot more "neurotic and nervous" than his partner. For its part, the creator of "Mediterranean" and "What will become of you" does not choose the beginning or the end: "The pleasure is in the middle of the concert. There is something going on every day, which is different, ”he says.

Sabina: "I think his favorite is when I leave him alone on stage and leave (laughs)."

—They are a little ours: the Argentine public loves them.

Sabina: "Not a little, we're quite ours (laughs)."

Serrat: —Before, yours (laughs).

—How have you prepared for this new show?

Serrat: —We have been preparing for this concert for months.

Sabina: —I am running at 5 in the morning; How many kilometers can it be each morning?

Serrat: —This concert for us is very special for several reasons. The first is a new space. It will be a space that will be historic in the city and it is very beautiful to be inaugurating it. Afterwards, it is a concert that we have also had to work hard and give many laps, many songs, organize everything again. And there is a third reason: Joaquin is getting very old and I don't know what he could give of himself. And today I announce that I will not abandon it anyway. I don't think that, in any way (laughs).

Sebina: "He's very worried because I forget the letters, his name, things like that."

Serrat: —Basilio called me the other day (Laughter). I told him: "I'm not black." Basil.

—They have been between 25 and 30 years of friendship, they told me. It is a life.

Sabina: Yes, out there. But keep in mind that it was not at all an equal thing. That is, I had a poster of this in my room and the poster now sings next to me. It has been very impressive for me.

"They have done a great tour together and they know each other very much." Since they know each other so much I want to ask, for example Joan Manuel: if I want to make Joaquín angry, what should I do?

Sabina: —It's hard.

Serrat: —Be patient. At some point you may find some slit where you can enter, right? I could give some directions, but it wouldn't do him any good. Surely he would overcome these indications and he would not find the way to get angry.

—And if Joan Manuel is already angry with me and I need him to forgive me, how can I do Joaquin?

Sabina: "Call me to mediate (laughs)." No, he will never be angry with you: he has always forgiven beautiful girls.

- Speaking of friendship and beautiful women like their partners, if they find out that the other is going to have dinner with his wife, are they calm or distrustful?

Serrat: "No, I'm sure my wife is going to try to get him to eat something."

Sabina: —If your wife is not there, I will be worried (laughs).

- One of your letters Joaquin, says: "For saying what I think without thinking what I say more than one kiss they gave me and more than one slap." Do you remember the most shocking slap you have received?

Sabina: —All slapping has been bad because the women of my life, of course, were not slapping. The slapping was given to me by the very Christian Salesian parents who educated me on the basis of slapping.

—Joan Manuel, have you received any slap?

Serrat: "Yes, but because I've been slow, I haven't left on time."

Sabina: "He hasn't pulled his fists (laughs)."

Serrat: No, I usually have a very high turning speed and I can go out at 34 km / h without giving the other a chance. I mean, understand me: I am a perfect escapist, that's why they have a hard time hitting me. I'm going to tell you one thing: my mother was able to hit me because I was betraying him, while she was sewing on the machine, right? Pajamas, shirts, all these things. He called me, pretended the voice: "Juanito". And then I approached stupidly and when I was at a distance ...

Sabina: "Shoe or hand?"

Serrat: —With the hand. Shoe? It was a lady. He turned quickly and caught me there. Normally when I was preceded by a scream I was already far away.

- In some talk we have had Joan Manuel, you said that sadness generated more growth than happiness, and that happiness is dropping moments. What is the last moment in which you felt an important joy?

Serrat: "I can't tell you ..."

-Why?

Serrat: "Because there is a promise of family secrecy."

"Any joy of those that children give us?"

Serrat: —A very great joy.

Sabina: —What would have cost him to say: “When Sabina said yes to this tour” ?!

-Absolutely. Above mentioned one that can not count, it really cost nothing.

Sabina: "Sure."

Serrat: "No, you told me if I had felt one and I answered yes." It was recently, two days ago.

—It's beautiful news; congratulations on that.

Serrat: "Thank you very much." Of Joaquin, yes, I will tell it too, it was a few days ago. When he asked Jimena to marry. He knelt and gave her a ring, as they do ...

Sabina: "You shouldn't tell that."

Serrat: "Ah! It was so beautiful."

"Are they serious?"

Sabina: Yes, yes. I am 70 years old, the day Jime turned 50 I folded my cervix and in verse…

Serrat: "He came to kneel."

Sabina: "And in verse ... well, he knows."

Serrat: "I didn't learn the verse because I was crying and I couldn't."

Sabina: —He sees a pedrush and knows immediately what it had cost me (laughs).
