The price of the first plates with TRX40 chipset is filtered, and they are excessively expensive

The prices for two of the new motherboards for the new AMD Threadripper 3000 processors have appeared in a store. These new boards would use the new AMD TRX40 chipset, which the manufacturer has developed for this platform. However, the bad news is that, if the prices shown right now are maintained, they would mean a very large price increase. In some cases, close to 33% compared to the current AMD X399 platform.

AMD has managed to maintain the compatibility of sockets on its AM4 platform, between the different generations of Ryzen processors. However, the manufacturer has not been able to prevent the current AMD X570 motherboards from being released at fairly high prices.

The company has justified the increase in these prices, based on the fact that the new chipset is larger and offers greater functionality than the previous X370 and X470.

Now, it seems that history is going to be repeated with its new HEDT processors. Since the next AMD Threadripper 3000 will no longer be compatible with the current motherboards of the TR4 platform. Nor, therefore, with the AMD X399 chipset.

That AMD does this, after having repeated until its satiety that its processors would maintain the retro compatibility with the previous motherboard models, we do not believe that users of this platform will like it too much.
The filtered prices of ASUS motherboards with TRX40 chipset are excessive

Today two motherboard models have appeared for the new AMD TRX40 chipset: the ASUS Prime TRX40-Pro and the ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme.

The first one, the ASUS Prime TRX-40 Pro, is referenced with a retail price of 833.83 Australian dollars. That equals about 514.82 euros at today's exchange rate.

The second of them, the ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme, would have a sale price of 1,343.52 Australian dollars. What would represent about 830 euros to the current change.

It is true that AMD's HEDT platform (nor Intel's, for that matter) has been characterized by having prices on its specially contained motherboards. But these prices that have leaked are clearly excessive. More, if we compare them with their equivalent models for the AMD X399 chipset.

For example, the current ASUS ROG X399 Zenith Extreme can be found for about 620 euros or less in online stores. Against that, we would be in a 33.8% increase between the two models.

Although, one thing can also happen. It is very likely that the online store from which these prices have been filtered is not putting the actual prices. It is more than likely that the store has created these product entries with the intention of positioning itself in Google for the future.

Since these types of tickets count enough when it comes to generating traffic and web positioning. Therefore, we do not believe that these prices are really going to be definitive. Although, given what happened with the AMD Ryzen 3000 platform and its motherboards with X570 chipset, it would not be surprising that there are also widespread price increases on the new motherboards.
