Commotion in Zárate: an 11-year-old boy died after a fight at school

Lautaro, an 11-year-old student of Zárate School No. 35, died last Friday night, hours after taking part in a fight during school hours in which he would have received a blow.

His mother, Leonela, said that on that day he withdrew the child from classes without any problem and returned together to his house in the Barrio Bosch in collective. Once at home, his son told him that his chest ached, he felt dizzy and his nose had bled. However, as the discomfort was temporary, he asked for permission to go play at a friend's house. "If I feel bad I warn you," he said. Hours later, Lautaro decompensated.

He was urgently transferred to San José de Campana Hospital with nose and mouth hemorrhages, where he was treated by a pediatrician who performed a series of studies and plaques that revealed no inconvenience. At the time of admission he suffered a cardiac arrest and died.

This Monday, through comments from other partners of the child, Leonela knew that on Friday Lautaro had participated in a fight inside the classroom with other classmates and that he would have received a blow to the chest that had caused a nosebleed.

“I was not aware of this, the lady did not tell me, she did not call me. I do not know how it went but I will not blame anyone, here the responsibility lies with the teacher and the managers. Schools are their second home, we need to be told. A coup is not normal, ”said Leonela, who went to school with other parents to meet with the authorities of the educational establishment. “If I had known that my son was beaten, everything would have been different. I couldn't even tell the doctor. ”

The cause was in the hands of the UFI N ° 2 of Campana and it is expected that in the next two weeks the results of the autopsy will be known, to know the real causes of Lautaro's death.

"We received a verbal complaint from the family that there had been an incident at the school that had caused the death of the student," said Roxana Borro, Regional Primary Education Inspector in dialogue with TN. "We started an investigation and the teacher was removed from the position to perform the relevant actions."

"With the family we agreed to wait for the autopsy results and then continue the investigations," said the inspector and confirmed that the provincial Ministry of Justice has already intervened in the case and investigates why the school did not report what happened.
