Yosif Shamli graduated from the National Academy of Theater and Film Arts in Krustyo Sarafov in 1994 in the class of Prof. Zdravko Mitkov. Among his first roles on the professional stage are Wojciech at Wojciech by Georg Büchner at Stephan Theater in Stef Sliven, Lucifer in Cain by George Byron at the Rhodope Drama Theater in Smolyan, Billy Bibit at Flight Over the Cuckoo's Nest at Konstantin Velichkov Drama Theater in Pazardzhik. He has participated in the theater projects of Sfumato's The Black Fleece and Odysseus' dream. In 2003 he specialized in directing at NBU under Leon Daniel.
