Before the stellar presentation of Douglas Lima in front of Rory Macdonald, both fighters climbed into the cage and it was Maine's who took the victory by submission with a spectacular move. However, the reaction of his rival was what took everyone's eyes. Devin Powell made his presentation at Bellator after being part of the UFC (Ultimate Fight Championship) since 2017. The American premiered with a particular victory after finishing his opponent at the end of the second round. The Blueprint, led his rival against the bars without imagining that he would be taken from the neck in the counterattack. It was there when Powell settled down and ran his arms around his head to dominate him. Surin could not get away from the guillotine and his only salvation was to ring the bell that marked the end of the round. While undergoing, however, he signaled to referee Kevin MacDonald saying he could continue and was not going to give up. Finally the bell rang, but what happened next was a symptom that Surin had just lost the battle. The 38-year-old fighter, completely disoriented, broke free of Powell's arms and automatically tried to knock down the referee without hearing the buzzer. While trying to keep his balance, MacDonald decreed the end and Powell celebrated. "I saw someone finish a fight like that in PFL (League of Professional Wrestlers) and I thought‘ I really want to do that, ’" he said of the move that gave him the win. "I had never done that (...) It felt super deep, so I kept squeezing, I was trying to put my lat (back muscle) on it, he added."
