Authorities reported that those arrested would be part of a complex money laundering operation. The captured persons were identified as María Beatriz Pasten Cuzmar, 55; María Isabel Wilson Ossandon, 48; Carlos Alberto Muñoz Moyano, 40; and Miaria Delpilar Roman Strick, 55; after Customs and Border Protection agents confiscated more than $ 22,000. According to the arrest report, according to Univision and CNN, customs agents carried out a routine check with flight attendants, when they asked Muñoz Moyano how much money he had, to which the man replied that USD 100 , but then set the sum at USD 9,000. This aroused the suspicions of the agents, who immediately requisitioned the other auxiliaries, finding USD 7,300 to Miaria Delpilar Roman Strick. In turn, they found USD 6,371 to María Isabel Wilson. Although María Beatriz Pasten Cuzmar appears in the arrest report, it is not reported as if she had been found a high sum of money in her possession. According to Univision, individuals face charges for unauthorized sending of money in the amount of between USD 300 to USD 20,000, money laundering and evading reports in amounts of USD 300 to USD 20,000. After the arrest, the four detainees were taken to the Miami-Dade jail.
