The new Triumph Street Triple RS 2020, the Moto2 experience moved to the street.

Triumph officially unveils the new Triumph Street Triple RS 2020, one of the great novelties of the Hinckley firm for next year.

Since a few weeks ago Triumph launched the teaser of the new Street Triple RS 2020, we have not stopped discounting the days until this October 7, date on which it was planned that the British house officially unveiled a new model that will be a of the big news in the Triumph catalog for next year.

2019 has become a very important year for the firm of Hinckley in relation to the world of competition, as they have entered as the sole supplier of engines for the Moto2 World Championship, an experience that is developing with great success. But not only that; In addition, Triumph is taking full advantage of that experience in the competition to move it to the street and the new Triumph Street Triple RS 2020 is a clear example of this.

Like the recently announced Triumph Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition, a supercar based on the Moto2 experience, the new version of the Street Triple RS inherits the engine that has been developed for the World Championship. After adapting to the new regulations in 2017 with a displacement of 675cc to 765cc, now the Triumph Street Triple RS goes one step further with the new 2020 version.

The 765cc three-cylinder engine has been deeply updated for Euro 5 regulations, in addition to taking the development of the Moto2 propeller as a reference. This results in a power and torque in the medium speed range of 9% higher compared to the predecessor version, that of 2017.

Thus, the new Street Triple RS achieves maximum figures of 123 hp at 11,750 rpm and 79 Nm at 9,350 rpm. The engine update comes with a new exhaust camshaft, which has been optimized to improve media performance, and also with a new machining of greater precision in crankshaft, clutch and balancing shaft. This seeks to reduce inertia and also the engine weight.

The Triumph Street Triple RS 2020 is consolidated as a true reference with the electronic throttle, adjustable ABS, disconnectable traction control and a total of five driving modes (Road, Rain, Sport, Track and Rider, customizable by the pilot) that have been improved and optimized so that the user can adapt and get the most out of the bike.

The standard equipment of the Triumph Street Triple RS 2020 also features the new Triumph ShiftAssist, the quick-change quickshifter system “up & down” of the brand; which allows you to move up and down while maintaining the throttle position and without the need to operate the clutch. In this way, faster, smooth and comfortable gear changes are achieved.

The TFT instrument panel now has a new graphics design and also allows you to install the MyTriumph software, a system that allows you to interact with a GoPro camera, as well as visualize the symbol navigation system and manage both the phone and music.

Lighter: a brutal weight-to-power ratio

The Triumph Street Triple RS 2020 improves with respect to its previous model to some of the aspects in which it was already a true reference, to the point that the weight-power ratio of this model has been improved, a key aspect in the performance of this model. The new version is even more agile and accessible. It is consolidated as the lightest and most powerful in its segment.

High-end components are not lacking in this Street Triple RS, which features 4-piston Brembo M50 brakes, 41mm adjustable Showa BPF fork, Öhlins rear shock and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP V3 tires.

From the new Street Triple RS we already know the price and availability: it will be available in Spain at the beginning of December at a special launch price of € 12,350 (VAT included) and can be purchased with two different color schemes: Matt Jet Black (with details in silver and yellow aluminum), or Silver Ice (with details in Diablo Red and silver aluminum).
