“It hurts to inform everyone, but William Joplin lost his fight with pancreatic cancer this morning. We could still use their help to pay for cremation expenses and a memorial service, ”were the words of her sister Shelley who announced her death on the same page, which they used to raise funds to cover medical expenses.

"The Armadillo", as he is known in the world of martial arts, died at age 41, of which in eight he was within an octagon in different companies, Bellator being the best known in which he participated. Victory Fighting Championship, Resurrection Fighting Alliance, Titan FC and Legacy Fighting Alliance, were the others he was in.

During his professional career in the MMA, he rose 31 times to the Octagon, obtaining 16 victories (1 by knockout and 9 by submission) by 15 defeats, the fall to Juan Archuleta being by decision his debut and farewell to the prestigious company Bellator.

 

The native of Missouri said goodbye to the world of mixed martial arts in April 2018, four months before he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It was from that moment when he began his last fight, in which he could not take the victory.

Eight months before he was informed about his illness, the former wrestler received the devastating news of his mother Janet Darnell's tragic death of the same cancer.
