After the launch of the new 2020 Corvette Stingray Convertible at the Kennedy Space Center, Chevrolet retained people one more time to delight in something as much or more desirable, the new Corvette C8.R competition, the first Chevrolet race car with central engine of the GTLM category. According to the brand of the bowtie, the C8.R and the Corvette Stingray present a comprehensive and obvious technology transfer.

"The C8.R is much more than a modified racing version of the Corvette Stingray 2020. It is the culmination of many years of testing and development between GM Design, Propulsion, Engineering and the Corvette Racing Team," said Jim Campbell, vice president of Chevrolet performance and car racing in the United States. "The collaboration between these teams has allowed us to take the performance of these vehicles to the next level, both on the streets and on the track."

With tremendous success on the track for the past 20 years; Corvette Racing has helped boost the development, performance and po[CENSORED]rity of Corvette's high-performance cars on racetracks around the world.

Since 1999, Corvette Racing has won 107 races, the largest number for any professional sports car team in North America, including 13 team championships and 12 Driver and Manufacturer titles. In 2015, Corvette Racing became the first sports car team in 15 years to win the Triple Crown of endurance races, that is, victories in Rolex 24 in Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring and 24 Hours of Le Mans, all In the same season.

On the models presented, Chevrolet will use two different variants. The C8.R No. 4 is dressed in silver, inspired by the color of some Corvette prototypes such as the Aerovette (1973) or the Stingray Racer (1959), seasoned with some yellow accents. On the other hand, the No. 3 car will feature a traditional yellow color scheme with silver accents that continues the lineage of the successful GTLM racing Corvettes of the last 20 years.

The C8.R will make its debut in the Rolex 24 (Daytona) in January 2020. For now, the brand has not declared information about its power or the technological characteristics of the car. But that looks great, there is no doubt.
