Inkriql
Ford Argentina announced today the presale of the Mustang 2020. The restyling of the sixth generation of the classic muscle-car will be officially launched at the end of the year, but it is already possible to reserve it. The new Mustang now has more power, new transmission and more equipment, but the great novelty is that it dropped in price and changed the commercial strategy: now it costs 80 thousand dollars (before, 95 thousand) and will be offered only by the Direct Selling system to customers This modality will allow the buyer to start the operation through the official website of Ford Argentina and continue it directly with the Pacheco headquarters. The delivery of the vehicle and the maintenance service will be carried out at the dealer chosen by the customer. In this way, dealers will no longer have stock of Mustang units. The available vehicles will always be safeguarded in Pacheco and will be sent to the dealer when the purchase has been completed. There will only be some units on display in different cities, on an itinerant basis. With this commercial strategy, Ford Argentina managed - in large part - to cut the 15 thousand dollars of price with respect to the previous model. Saving is produced, in good proportion, by an adjustment in commissions. According to sources from Ford dealers, in a traditional sale the margin corresponding to the dealer ranges between 12 and 14%. By direct sale, the concessionaire keeps less than 5%. The value of 80 thousand dollars, in addition, will serve to sincere what was already happening with the Mustang. The last pre-restyling units that were in stock were sold with significant discounts. The same is happening with its historic arch-rival, the Chevrolet Camaro, which has sales of more than 25 thousand dollars (it is also awaiting the arrival of a redesign). However, the official price reported by GM Argentina is still 95 thousand dollars for the Coupé (103 thousand for the Convertible). After the move of Ford, we must see if GM - once again - follow the steps of the creator of the segment. But enough of financial analysis, what about iron? The new Mustang GT 2020 retains the V8 5.0 atmospheric gasoline engine, but it worked to improve performance. The power increased from 421 to 466 hp and the torque climbed from 530 to 570 Nm. In addition, the six-speed automatic transmission was replaced by a new ten-speed transmission (with torque converter and steering wheel cams). The traction, as appropriate, remains rear. In addition, the Mustang 2020 comes with many new equipment. For the first time, it has a fully digital dashboard and multimedia system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. More news: ADAS driving assistance systems, including Autonomous Emergency Braking. The 2020 Mustang will be released for official sale in December, but it is already in presale. All details are reported in the release and the files to download from here below.
