Inkriql
More than a year ago Intel unveiled part of its plans for its introduction in the market for dedicated graphics cards. It was clear that it would not be an attempt to assess the market, but a declaration of intent for the two largest GPU manufacturers in the world. Today, Raja Koduri has released a photo on his twitter that suggests the possible launch date of the new Intel Xe. The truth is that when we filtered at the time the performance of the new Gen 11 iGPUs that would arrive with Ice Lake, we were reluctant to believe the rise in FPS that reflected this data. Reasons were certainly not missing, since on other occasions Intel said it would be up to the AMD iGPU and it was not so, so AMD has dominated with an iron hand for many years. But it was time for the truth, so as we have seen in leaks and data collected from the lucky ones who have had in their hands some of the few portable units with Ice Lake, Intel was quite right in what it said. Not only has it been up to AMD, but possibly in many ways it has surpassed them. Which already indicates the great potential that comes with the new graphics cards of Swan. As we know, the visible face of the GPU engineering department is Raja Koduri, former director of AMD in the Radeon section that finally chose to leave the company and start a new adventure and challenge at Intel, harder if the one lived in the Lisa Su's work dependencies. Now, Raja Koduri himself has uploaded a photograph referring to the license plate that carries his Tesla Model X, which is the epicenter of the entire earthquake that has been unleashed. The registration that Koduri has placed on his Tesla is really revealing, since apart from the one named THINKXE and California, on the left side the month of June is appreciated and on the right side the figure 2020. This obviously fits with the year of Intel Xe's departure, already announced by Intel at the time, but not being something casual but rather fully intended by Raja Koduri, we must understand that it will be just in the middle of next year where Intel launches the architecture and graphics cards that will face the almighty AMD and NVIDIA.
