As the profile of televisions is becoming thinner, many users acquire a sound bar to complement the audio of their model. In fact, a few months ago we developed a comparison that included six models of the most important brands with proposals adapted to all kinds of budgets.

However, these sound bars are not the only option available. If your space and budget allows it, another alternative is home theater or home cinema systems. Its features are much more complete and the quality provided too, although the counterpart is in the installation process because it is not as simple and intuitive as that of the bar.
What models have we chosen?

To make this comparison we have selected three firms and set a maximum budget of 500 euros. In alphabetical order, these home cinema systems are: Onkyo HT-S3910 (8.5), Pioneer HTP-076 (8.5) and Sony BDV-E2100 (8.25).

Each one has obtained a final average assessment in which various criteria have been analyzed and taken into account, as indicated below.

- Design: how is the design of the elements that make up home cinema? And the finish and construction? We must take them into account, especially for the economic investment that is made and thinking that this type of equipment is acquired for a long time.

- Installation: it is also key. Ideally, especially in the case of not having experience, this installation is carried out in the shortest possible time and does not carry any headaches. Therefore, the manufacturer's instructions have to be as clear and simple as possible.

- Sound: we have verified the sound experience offered by each of these three systems and their quality, the formats it supports ...

- Connections: next to the physical ones to use it with different devices through the cable, it is common to integrate Bluetooth technology to use the system with the mobile phone and the tablet.
So we have tried them

We have tested each of these home theater systems for about a week. We have installed them in a room of about 27 square meters chaired by a Panasonic TV (TX-58GX710). We have used them, above all, to watch movies (mainly action movies), but also sports and concerts. By being able to pair it with mobile devices via Bluetooth, we have also checked how this feature was.

We have granted a technical tie to the proposals of Onkyo and Pionner, which have won first place despite being the two most expensive options and with a more complicated installation process than Sony home cinema. However, the quality of its sound and the sensations that have been transmitted to us have seemed much better.
