12-year-old girl died in a stream of Barbosa trying to find a guaca

In El Chorro del Diablo, a natural water fall in the municipality of Barbosa with around 300 meters high, a 12-year-old girl died when, apparently, she was trying to find a guaca.

To this site, located on the village of La Chorrera, the relief agencies went on Tuesday to try to rescue it, since it had been suspended from the top of the mountain with a rope and, on Wednesday, was found dead near 3:00 pm

His name was Manuela Estrada. In the company of his stepfather and his mother they went to the jet in search of treasure because, as they told acquaintances Q’Hubo, a witch had assured them that at the bottom of the waterfall they would find three golden canecas.

However, at 2:00 p.m. Last Tuesday the man would have contacted his co-workers to tell them he had problems.

Everything seems to indicate that during the descent, since her stepfather would have chosen her to lose her light weight, the minor drew off the ropes from which she hung, and that same day she began her rescue, but the rains prevented her from carrying out the work.

The Barbosa Firefighters returned this Wednesday and it was too late. Benhur Carvajal, commander of this organization, said that while the girl may have released the rope, it may also be that it would burst, so the facts are a matter of investigation.

According to a stepfather's friend, interviewed by Q’Hubo, the man worked as a butler and last Tuesday he had searched for several ropes, one of them in poor condition.

What does the police say?

The institution was reported the case last Tuesday, about 9:00 p.m. As mentioned before, the weather conditions were not appropriate to go to the site that same day, so they organized the rescue for Wednesday morning.

Colonel Daniel Mazo Cardona, commander of District 6 North Zone of the Metropolitan Police of the Aburrá Valley, led the mission.

He confirmed to EL COLOMBIANO that the labors to find the girl were accompanied, in addition to the relief agencies, people from the village of La Chorrera, and even several overflights were made with the helicopter, but because of the difficulty of the terrain, very mountainous, it became impossible to access until the fall of water in this aircraft.

“It took us five hours, on foot, to reach the place where the body of the minor was. The mother and stepfather from one moment to another withdrew from the place and left the work to the authorities, ”said the colonel.

The criminal section of the Police is conducting interrogations, with a lawyer defending the guardians of the girl, and also an interview with the owner of the farm where the stepfather worked to confirm who told them that in the lower part From the jet was a guaca.

“It is difficult for something such as a guaca to be found, it is an area that is very difficult to access. What is being investigated is whether that is true, or else to understand what they went to that place and why they tied the minor of the ropes and lowered it through that abyss, ”said Colonel Mazo.

For exposing his stepdaughter, the stepfather could be charged with the crime of wrongful death. Everything will depend on the investigation of the authorities with the elements found in the jet and the forensic analysis in Legal Medicine of the body of Manuela.
