Inkriql
From Porto Alegre (Brazil) - In the middle of a rainy morning in Porto Alegre, Chevrolet presented the new generation of the Onix in a massive event where we shared press conference room and dealerships in Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. On this first day the presentation was at a general level, the details of the versions and equipment that we will have in our country will only be known tomorrow, Friday. In the previous days Chevrolet Argentina had given some clues of what was coming: turbocharged engine, level 4 connectivity that includes WiFi for the first time in its segment, and some more spoilers, and we are not talking about aerodynamics. The first of the changes is in name. There will be no more Prism, from now on Onix and Onix Plus, which will be the name of the three volume version. The aesthetic changes, although they are not deep, are visible to the naked eye. New front and rear optics are what most attract attention in the game of differences. As far as measurements are concerned, the Plus version gains 194mm more length compared to the Prism. Undoubtedly, the profile of the Onix Plus has received a lot of work in search of stylizing it, it is no longer as “plump” as its predecessor. During the presentation Carlos Zarlenga, President of General Motors for South America, emphasized what the Onix changed the market, at least in Brazil. On these lands, Onix sells only more than its two followers sell together in the sales ranking. Another novelty is the turbo three-liter three-cylinder engine and 116HP power engine. With this propeller, the Onix accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 9.7 seconds and an average consumption of 17 km / l. The news also came to safety, as it now comes with six series airbags and ESP series and has just received five LatinNCAP stars and the recognition called "Advanced Award". Finally, connectivity, something that Chevrolet emphasizes especially in a model aimed at a young audience. The Onix comes with a Wi-Fi router, which allows you to have your own internet connection, something vital for many people and that happens to be of help on the Onix also in the face of updates to some of the car's apps. The MyLink system now has a 7-inch screen and the MyChevrolet system has received a strong update with an intelligent map that learns and shows us behaviors that we have had in places we go through, for example. All elements that were mentioned and we hope to test during the test drive that awaits us tomorrow, Friday. More spoilers? My Chevrolet will have an app version and can be synchronized with smart watches to control some features of the car remotely. Tomorrow almost 200 kilometers of travel await us behind the wheel of the new Onix and, above all, know the details of the versions that we will have in the Argentine market.
