It was revealed to the press on July 28, 2009 and presented at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show. features Engine The naturally aspirated 4.5L V8 delivers 570 hp (419 kW) at 9000 rpm and yields a maximum torque of 540 Nm (55.1 kgm; 398 lb-ft) at 6000 rpm, with 80% of it available at 3250 rpm The engine incorporates direct fuel injection for the first time in a Ferrari with central engine configuration. Transmission The transmission is semi-automatic double-clutch Getrag 7-speed F1, similar to that of the Ferrari California, which can operate in manual or automatic mode. Driving The car's suspension is double-arm in the front and multilink system in the rear, along with electronic differential and traction control of Formula 1 also known as F1-Trac [1], designed to improve cornering behavior and longitudinal acceleration by 32% compared to Design The 458 Italia was designed by Pininfarina, like the latest Ferrari models. The style and characteristics of the car were designed for aerodynamic efficiency, producing a load of 140 kg (309 lb) at 200 km / h (124 mph). The interior of the 458 has been designed using the contributions of former Ferrari driver in Formula 1 Michael Schumacher, including a new steering wheel that incorporates many of the features and controls in front of the driver and not on the dashboard, similar to racing cars. According to Autocar, the 458 has been inspired by the Ferrari Enzo and its Mille Chile concept car.3 It has been designed to be the most sporty Ferrari model with V8, to distinguish itself from the recently launched Ferrari California. Ferrari 458 Challenge The Ferrari 458 Challenge was presented at the Ferrari Annual Dealer Meeting on July 14, 2010. Ferrari says its new Challenge model goes around the Fiorano circuit in 1: 16.5, which is two seconds faster than its predecessor, the F430 Challenge and only two tenths slower than the Ferrari FXX. Ferrari 458 Spider In August 2011, the Italian company presented in Maranello the convertible version derived from the Ferrari 458 Italia, the Ferrari 458 Spider. The roof opening and closing device performs the process in 14 seconds, 4 following the scheme of the pivoting rigid roof of the Ferrari 575M South America. On the other hand, the 4.5 L V8 engine remains unchanged, maintaining 570 hp (419 kW) of power at 9,000 rpm and 540 Nm of maximum torque from 6,000 rpm. In addition, Ferrari has not sacrificed excessively the weight of the new vehicle, only surpassing the Ferrari 458 Italia in 50 kg (110 lb) more. Fire danger A year after the start of the commercialization of the model, five units of the Ferrari 458 Italia had burned.5 Initially the fires were attributed to an expansion valve that generated an incorrect expulsion of the gases from the fuel.6 Subsequently, Ferrari indicated that the fires were caused by an adhesive used to fix a panel under the rear wheel arches that could start a fire in the engine area if high temperatures were reached.7 The owners of the burning Ferrari received a new one8 and 1,248 units produced from the model were called to review to remove the adhesive material.9 Instead, metal rivets were used, a solution similar to that adopted for the models that were manufactured from that moment. On July 7, 2019 a well-known youtuber named Javith caught his Ferrari 458 Italia on fire, the fire started at the left rear wheel arch, so far it is not known if it is for the same fault, he is waiting to receive an answer for Ferrari part
