By definition, the automotive industry remains in constant evolution. Although some feel a certain nostalgia for the elegant designs of the early twentieth century, and others yearn for access to vehicles without a pilot, today technology is focused on making intelligent and safe vehicles. The next generation of cars will have assistance systems, radars, stereo cameras and even automatic braking software in the presence of pedestrians. The European program for the evaluation of new cars (EuroNCAP) has already incorporated issues such as lane tracking or emergency brake.

 

For the EuroNCAP, starting in 2018, cars must detect pedestrians and stop when there is no visible route. By 2020, there will be an automatic brake to detect cars that circulate perpendicularly and other automatic braking systems focused on stopping the vehicle in case the pilot is distracted from the different daily vicissitudes that any driver goes through.

 

If you are thinking about buying a new car, maybe it is better to wait to read these lines. Because, although it is true that in 2018 we expect a lot of Christmas, if you have patience and wait a little longer, we know that in 2020, with the advent of the next decade, there will be an important technological leap. In recent months, many manufacturers have announced that their next models will be electrified. Although at present the offer of 100% electric cars is still reduced and market models still have a price more expensive than traditional combustion vehicles, everything indicates that in the next few years the car fleet will be inclined towards this trend. It is still necessary to increase the recharging points, government aid and other incentives so that the change of direction towards electric mobility really arrives, but for example from Volkswagen they say that in 2025 they hope to sell one million electric cars in the world. 2020 promises to be the year of change, as several companies have announced the arrival of electrified variants, as well as other models of fossil fuels that are completely renewed and equipped with the latest technology, power and connectivity.
