Posted May 23, 2019 Posted May 23, 2019 Freedom Press: MOSCOW (Reuters) - Fighters fired four missiles at the Russian-held air base of Hameimim in Lattakia province, but all the missiles were destroyed, the Russian Information Agency quoted the Defense Ministry as saying. The attack was the fourth announced by the Russian Defense Ministry since early May. Russia is invoking the Hamimim base for attacks by the Sham Liberation Organization (formerly the Nasra Front) to justify the attack by Assad's forces, with support from the provinces of Hama and Idlib. The offensive campaign has claimed the lives of more than 400 civilians and injured hundreds of people, as well as the displacement of about 350 thousand people from their homes towards the border areas
