[X]pErT- Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 (edited) In the past days, I was "reported" a problem (very problematic): through some "elevated" key combinations (simple - for connoisseurs, random and sadistic for the rest) an acquaintance managed to activate NumLock on a laptop keyboard (which obviously has the number keys over some of the letter keys - that's where the problem). The problem would have been resolved quickly with a little advice (Fn + F11 activates or deactivates NumLock) if in their oddness on the laptop keyboard, fingers would not set as NumLock and Capslock to be enabled default every time the system starts (apparently, and ScrollLock it would have been activated, but I would not say exactly the differences between "with" and "without", I expect completions). Because I have not managed to clarify which combination of keys will cancel that problem, the solution is a simple registry editor. So, if the keys (or key combinations for) CapsLock, NumLock, and ScrollLock have "inappropriate" behavior and turn on default after each boot, then follow the steps and educate them Open Registry Editor (type regedit in Search in the Start Menu then type Enter) and follow the HKEY_USERS \ .DEFAULT \ Control Panel \ Keyboard path. In the right pane, change the entry value (String Value = REG_SZ) InitialKeyboardIndicators to one of the following: 0 - Disable NumLock, CapsLock, and ScrollLock 1 - Enables CapsLock 2 - Activate NumLock 3 - Enables CapsLock and NumLock 4 - Enables ScrollLock 5 - Enable CapsLock and ScrollLock 6 - Enables NumLock and ScrollLock 7 - Enables NumLock, CapsLock, and ScrollLock For the changes to take effect, restart the PC. For future issues of this kind, note the values and their co Edited May 5, 2019 by - Dark Closed
