The video game, which is the fifteenth title of the Call of Duty franchise, was officially announced on March 8, 2018, through a brief trailer. Its global release date was October 12, 2018. The videogame Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was officially announced on March 8, 2018, with the presentation of a brief trailer. In addition, it was announced that the game would be shown to the public for the first time on May 17, 2018 at a "community event", without providing further details.
