The Octopath Traveler prequel will have three different stories

Square Enix details some of the playable mechanics and story lines of Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, prequel to the original. The recently announced Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent will have many things in common with the original game of Nintendo Switch, of which it is a prequel. It will soon come to iOS and Android devices, and will be free to play, containing microtransactions, but Square Enix has defined it as "an RPG for a player", which will be closer to this formula than what we know as social games. The Japanese company has given new details of the characteristics of this game.

 

Three stories instead of eight

Obviously, Octopath Traveler: Champions Of the Continent will have the size of the original game, but we can choose between three stories to start with, and depending on which one we choose, the other two protagonists will become antagonists. According to Square Enix, these characters are Helminia, the witch of Avarice, Titus, The Hero, and Arguste, the Playwright. Each of them represents a value: helath, power and glory, respctively.

Who will join the team? And where will you go next? All these decisions and many others are completely in the hands of the player. Each character has an exclusive path action that they can use to interact uniquely with the people they encounter. For example, the Olberic warrior can challenge a duel to almost anyone. By doing so, he can unmask a villain and bring him to justice or force someone to step out of his way. In contrast, the Primrose dancer can seduce others to follow her. With this ability, you can locate someone who has been lost and bring them back, or attract their enemies to a trap."
