Tottenham 'drop hint' Champions League quarter-final will take place at new stadium

 Tottenham Hotspur booked their spot in the Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday night, sealing a 4-0 aggregate victory over Borussia Dortmund with a 1-0 success in Germany.

Harry Kane scored the only goal at the Westfalenstadion to seal the deal for Spurs, who will find out next week their opposition in the last eight.


That quarter-final is set to take place at the start of April and Spurs are hoping to be back in N17 when those fixtures roll around.

It's understood that Spurs are currently targeting the April 7 Premier League match against Brighton as the first fixture at the new 62,062-seater arena.

The Champions League quarter-final first leg dates are April 9 and 10This week, Haringey Council approved parking restrictions around the stadium so that an event "with an expected attendance of 10,000 persons or more" can take place next SaturdaySpeaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday's game at Southampton on Thursday, Pochettino stated his hope that the club will be able to play their European quarter-final at their new home.

"We hope yes it should be ready, should be fantastic to play Champions League in the new stadium," said Pochettino.
