Wassim™ Posted March 13, 2019 Posted March 13, 2019 Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced that on December 31, 2018, it had managed to place more than 91.6 million PlayStation 4 consoles around the world. In addition, the Japanese company has reported that the game Marvel's Spider-Man developed by Insomniac Games exceeded on November 25, 2018 the 9 million copies sold (between physical and digital). PlayStation 4 has managed to exceed 91.6 million units thanks to the sales of the last Christmas campaign. During this period, which runs from November 19 to December 31, 2018, Sony Interactive Entertainment managed to ship more than 5.6 million PlayStation 4, only 300,000 fewer units than a year ago and 600,000 less than two years ago. The console suffers understandable wear over the years, but their numbers are still enviable. Sony Interactive Entertainment has also revealed that during the Christmas campaign more than 50.7 million games were sold for PlayStation 4 (5.2 million less than a year ago), which since its launch and until December 31, 2018 has already accumulated a total of 876 million titles transferred (between those shipped in physical and digital format). In 2018 more than 230 million games were sold for PlayStation 4. John Kodera, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, wanted to thank the followers of PlayStation 4 for their support of the platform for another year. In his statements he has also revealed that in November 2018 PlayStation Network exceeded 90 million monthly active users. The next goal of PlayStation 4 is to achieve over 100 million units, a milestone that will possibly come when we will be closer to see his successor.
