Whether you're an in-market car shopper, an auto enthusiast or just someone who wants to get outta this bipolar winter weather, for the next 10 days, Chicago is your kinda town. The 2019 Chicago Auto Show opens to the public on Saturday and runs through Feb. 17, and as usual, the self-styled "nation's largest auto show" uses its million-square-foot-plus exhibit space to maximum effect, offering consumers a comprehensive collection of pretty much every major new-model debut from the 2018-19 auto-show season — plus a bunch of cool new stuff to boot. Cars.com's team of automotive journalists was on the scene covering all the action live.  As the Chicago Auto Show goes, so goes the nation — or maybe it's the other way around, but as the best-selling vehicles in the U.S. are consistently pickup trucks, the Windy City motor show offers pickups aplenty. Debuting in Chicago are the 2020 Toyota Tacoma (the best-selling mid-size truck on the market), the 2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty and the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 and 3500 heavy-duty trucks. Spoiler alert: The Chevys won Cars.com's Best in Show award for the Chi show, so be sure to check those out.Another must-see debut is the 2020 Subaru Legacy. As SUVs supplant cars on the sales charts, it feels like a bold move anytime a new sedan bows at an auto show. Subaru's sedan returns refreshed and ready to keep cars alive, armed with a new near-premium interior, an optional 11.6-inch multimedia screen and an updated turbocharged powertrain option. Other refreshed models bowing at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show include the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, the 2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI and the 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport. Special versions of existing models are also plentiful here. Anniversary editions of the Mazda MX-5 Miata, Chrysler Pacifica and Dodge Caravan mark 30- and 35-year milestones, respectively. Toyota brought along off-road-ready TRD editions of its RAV4 and Sequoia SUVs. New options and packages are yet another theme, with the Lexus LC 500 Inspiration Edition luxury sports coupe, the 2019 Lexus NX Black Line SUV, the 2019 Dodge Challenger and Charger muscle cars in Sublime Green, the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder Rock Creek Edition SUV and the all-new Sport Package for the 2019 Cadillac XT5.Planning on heading to the show but afraid you'll be overwhelmed once you get here? Sort out your priorities with our comprehensive coverage before you even leave the house.
