The best player in America is from River

The Uruguayan newspaper El País announced the finalists for the "King of America" award in 2018. This award has been given every year since 1986 and in the 2017 edition it had the Brazilian Luan, from Gremio, as the winner.

The novelty of this year is that the three names that remained as candidates for recognition belong to the same team: River.

Fundamental pieces for the consecration of the Millionaire in the 2018 Copa Libertadores against Boca, Franco Armani, Gonzalo Martínez and Juan Fernando Quintero are the three players among which people must choose.

The last one to win this mention as a River player was Carlos Sánchez, in 2015 (first Libertadores of the Gallardo cycle). In turn, in the previous edition of the aforementioned was Teófilo Gutiérrez who climbed to the top of the podium after winning the Copa Sudamericana 2014 (accompanied by the aforementioned Sánchez and Leonardo Pisculichi, also from River).
