Privacy in Windows 10 has been compromised for a few years, and while users have different options in the configuration of the system so that Microsoft collects the least possible data, the answers will multiply in the last week on this subject.

The first steps of the week were discussed in Windows 10 and the user stories were sent to Microsoft itself.

One of the main problems, is that Windows 10 comes with a defect with a series of options that allows you to send a Microsoft the behavior data of an application that is installed on our computer, and that users who are not daring or not feel like browsing Navigating through all the privacy settings of the operating system is not good news.

In view of the criticism that has occurred in the last few hours, the company has pronounced that there is a bad choice of names. As they explain, in Windows 10 and also in the privacy panel of the operating system, the same term is indicated as "browsing history", but in reality they come to be different things.

On the one hand, one of these activity histories are related to telemetric data of the applications that we have installed, and for the other part, they are data collected by the Edge browser.

In principle what Microsoft wants to do is, in a future update, change the name of these activity histories, and explain more each of them so that there is no confusion and the user knows what is activating or deactivating.

"Microsoft is committed to the privacy of the user, being transparent about the data we collect and use for our benefit, providing controls to manage the data. In this case, the same term "Activity History" is used both in Windows 10 and in the Microsoft privacy panel, "Redmond said.
