KEPY™
The more cameras in a mobile, the better the better. That, at least, is what several manufacturers think this 2018. However, some reason they have, since the more different cameras there are in a phone, the more options we have for users to take better photos. LG wants to go further, and has patented a matrix for a mobile with 16 cameras. Huawei was one of the first companies to introduce double camera modules. The Huawei P9 and P10 had two sensors, one main and one monochrome. The same happened with the P20, but his brother, the P20 Pro, mounted a triple camera configuration (monochrome, main and telephoto). With the evolution of technology, manufacturers have adopted these dual camera modules to achieve the desired bokeh effect (or background blur) and other companies have continued to advance (such as Huawei with the wide-angle Mate 20 Pro or Samsung with its four objectives of A9). Now, the war is not megapixels. However, there is no other mobile on the table with more than four cameras, except the one that can be the cell phone with five Nokia cameras. Now, LG wants a mobile with 16 cameras, and has already registered the patent. No, it is not that it is a rear that looks like a beehive, but a matrix, we imagine that the style of the one that mounts with Huawei Mate 20, but something bigger and with smaller objectives, that allow to house those 16 sensors . In addition, the matrix of the 16 cameras of LG's mobile phone would not be flat, as up to now, but each of the lenses would have a different inclination to allow taking pictures from different angles. What would be the applications of these 16 cameras? For example, take images in three dimensions, simulate movement when creating photographs from different angles or edit more professionally. The cameras would be responsible for taking the images ... and artificial intelligence would be the ones that managed them. And, the AI has become an inseparable companion of the double and triple cameras of mobile phones to be able to manage information, and with 16 cameras, it would be something more than necessary.
