Caracas.- Beyond the debut of José "Cafecito" Martínez, Tiburones did not have much to celebrate last week. There were five defeats in a row that La Guaira suffered. The streak sent the direct team to the last position of the classification, after having shown an improvement of the ugly start of the campaign.

But there is no evil that lasts 100 years, sometimes not even 10 games in baseball. The negative salty chain stopped and Jorma Rodríguez and Anthony Lerew had a lot to do. Both were the pillars of the victory of the sharks, 9 to 3, on Águilas del Zulia, in the University Stadium.

Rodriguez, who guarded left field, went 5-3, with two doubles, one run scored and four RBIs. Lerew scored the win by throwing 5.0 innings and only allowing a clean run. His contrast was César Jiménez, who lost by suffering seven deserved annotations in 3.2 chapters.

Rodriguez was involved in the great inning of La Guaira, the second, when the school stepped on the plate four times. He hit a double to drive two lines. Heiker Meneses and Juan Apodaca took two to the plate with singles.

The first race of Eagles came by a balk from Lerew in the fourth act, which allowed him to gum up Alberto González. However, in the lower part of the episode, Tiburones scored three with a hit by José Martínez and a double by Dioner Navarro.

The raptors made two in the seventh passage, after a solo homer by Angel Aguilar and unstoppable by Ali Castillo. But the sharks responded with the same coin, in the same inning: Rodriguez towed two more with double to the right prairie.

For Aguilas, "Tico" González stood out, going from 4-3 with scored. Jesus Montero, who arrived last week in a change with the Cardinals of Lara, hit his first undisputed as a harrier.

The Zulia adds four consecutive defeats.
