Arreaza: Time to strengthen Multilateralism and Political Dialogue

The foreign minister called on Ibero-American countries to "give in to any difference" in order to defend multilateral organizations against "unilateralist" and "hegemonist" currents
During his speech at the 26th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government held in Antigua (Guatemala), Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza assessed the Ibero-American space as a place of "healthy dialogue" and called for "protecting" this regional meeting.

"For Europe, Latin America is fundamental and this Summit has to be a bridge between both regions, we must protect and enrich it constantly," said the Venezuelan minister after saying that this meeting is "a re-tying" Latin America with the Iberian Peninsula.

He reiterated that the appointment is a space for cooperation, a space for the reencounter in the political dialogue and to be able to advance, articulate from the positive.

He said that it is time to strengthen Multilateralism, Cooperation and Political Dialogue, while indicating that the countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas-Peoples Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) are present at the Summit Iberoamerican

Arreaza also stressed that Venezuela is in solidarity with Cuba and Nicaragua in the face of "foreign sanctions" that, in their opinion, no country "should accept."

This event that began last Thursday and concludes this Friday has as its motto "A prosperous, inclusive and sustainable Latin America", and is focused on ratifying and concretizing the Ibero-American commitment with the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals .
