Volkswagen Polo 2019 debuta

While in other latitudes of the world, the Volkswagen Polo 2019 is synonymous with a new generation, in other less fortunate countries, like ours, we have to continue to settle with the commercialization of the MK5 that although, still looks like a pretty competitive car, already accuses the passage of the years.

Before continuing, it should be clarified that, apparently, the real reason for which the MK6 Pole has not arrived is mainly due to the fact that, in India, the country from where it is imported, the line change has not yet been made, and while this does not happen, we will see the current model for a slightly longer time than sti[CENSORED]ted. Hopefully the wait is worth it.

Returning to the launch of Polo 2019, it remains practically unchanged except for the incorporation of some "Portago" wheels of 16 inches or the side mirrors with integrated directional light.

However, it is in the equipment section where we do find a couple of novelties, being the fog lamps with static curve function a highlight. The list is completed by elements such as leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, travel computer, electric elevators, center armrest, lever and leather-wrapped brake knob, as well as an infotainment system with 6.5-inch touch screen.

As for security, we continue with the same tendency to have the basics and little else. This is why ABS brakes, front airbags or the ISOFIX child seat anchors can not be missing. The big missing, continues to be the electronic stability control.

Under the hood, the MPI 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine remains capable of delivering 105 Hp and 112 Lb-ft, which for the time being will be coupled exclusively to a six-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission with three driving modes. Later, the option of manual transmission of five changes will be offered. Now, without option to turbo engine or the powerful GTI.
