A timely offense and a great relief were the keys to the twilight victory
CARACAS.- Cardinals of Lara won 8-3 to Leones del Caracas in Antonio Herrera Gutiérrez de Barquisimeto, thanks to an offense of 10 hits and a relief that did not allow annotations in four episodes and a third.

In the first episode, an error by third baseman Carlos Rivero and a simple tug of Harold Castro placed the scoreboard 2-0 in favor of Leones.

In the bottom of the second act, an error in shot by Victor Reyes after a sacrifice fly by Yonathan Mendoza resulted in a pair of scores that tied the game.

In the third, experienced Jose Castillo singled with full bases to put the twilight 4-2 up.
In the seventh, Ildemaro Varga hit a solo homer to put the scoreboard 6-3.

In the eighth, the Larenses scored a couple more lines to kill the game in favor of the Cardinals.
The winning pitcher was Daniel Álvarez (1-0), while starter Israel Cruz (1-2) was defeated.
