- !el Catire *O* Posted November 6, 2018 Posted November 6, 2018 Once the EcoSport was the creator and undisputed leader in the subcompact SUV segment. But with the arrival of the new generation and new competitors, it went from glory to oblivion in a heartbeat. Well, Ford claims the way and presents the 2018 model that presumes a series of best that promise to return the lost protagonism. Regarding the aesthetic changes, these were already detailed at the time of its global presentation during the 2016 Salon de los Angeles. However, it should be noted that, unlike other markets, the Ford EcoSport 2018 has the particularity of keeping the rim of spare hanging on the tailgate. Among the novelties of the interior can be mentioned the bi-tone skin, the improvement in materials, assemblies, the electric sunroof and the redesigned console. By the way, in terms of safety we find elements such as brakes with ABS, anchor for children's ISOFIX chairs, as well as front, side and curtain type air bags. In terms of equipment there are differences between the different versions. Thus, Impulse variants have a 4.2 "screen; the Trend 6.5 "(both with SYNC and Applink), while the Titanium equips an 8-inch with SYNC 3 compatible with Apple CarPlay and AndroidAuto. This version also includes a satellite navigation system. By the way, depending on the finish the aluminum wheels can be 16 or 17 inches. Curiously, the EcoSport Titanium has speeding alert, which emits a brief sound to warn the driver that reached 120 km / h, this is simply auditory and does not control the vehicle, but allows drivers to be aware of driving at a safe speed. Mechanically, the Impulse and Trend variants coupled with a five-speed manual transmission are driven by a new 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine capable of producing 121 Hp and 111 lb-ft of torque, offering a fuel consumption of 17 km / l in the combined cycle. For its part, the versions with a six-speed automatic transmission with Trend and Titanium steering wheel paddles have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 164 Hp and 146 lb.-ft. of torque. By the way, despite the similarity of relations, this transmission has nothing to do with the previous double clutch and is much more related to that used in models such as Escape and Fusion. Finally, before knowing the prices and versions, it is worth mentioning that this model is no longer imported from Brazil but from India, a country from where it is exported to other latitudes such as Europe. 1
