The Mac mini is renewed almost 1,500 days later: same design, more power

Apple has called the press and enthusiasts for an event in New York. Due to the hourly situation, this time the Keynote started at 3pm Spanish time. The event has been focused on new products that were not announced in September with the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. One of the news of the day is the new Mac mini, the small of the range that is renewed almost 1,500 days later. New 13.3-inch MacBook Air: thinner, lighter and more powerful.

On October 16, 2014, the last Mac mini available to date with Intel Haswell processors, WiFi AC or Thunderbolt 2 was released as new features. Since then, unconfirmed rumors and news that did not come true. Four years later, we have a new member in the form of Mac mini, the cheap Apple computer that we can connect to any monitor or TV.

New Mac mini 2018: technical features and price
Processors with 4 cores as a base and 6-core options to meet consumer demand. All of them are Intel 8th generation with a performance 5 times higher than the models launched in the past, something normal after the time that has passed. The RAM can be up to 64GB and 2666 MHz. In storage we see that all Mac Mini use flash memory up to 2TB with the Apple T2 security chip.

We have optional 10 Gbps network connection, 4 Thunderbolt 3 ports with USB type C, an HDMI port and 2 USB type A ports. In addition, in the back we have speaker connection and for power. The basic configuration starts with 8-generation Intel i3 processors with 8GB of RAM and 128GB SSD.

New Mac mini 2018: price and availability
The new Mac mini can be ordered from today from 899 euros and can be purchased from next week, specifically on November 7. The color available for this Mac mini will be Space Gray, a color somewhat darker than the one chosen for the model launched in 2014.
