- !el Catire *O* Posted October 28, 2018 Posted October 28, 2018 The function of unlocking voice in Android, which among other devices have been using the Pixel, it seems that it will be eliminated from the rest of Android terminals over time. And if one of the surprises of the new Pixel 3 was that they did not include the Voice Match function for security reasons, it seems that it will also be suppressed in the rest of the Android devices that had previously enabled this feature. And this feature allows users to make their voice act as an access code to the device, even when locked. This could cause different security problems since a person with a similar voice can enter our phone while being blocked. With the arrival of the Pixel 3 have replaced this feature with "Lock screen personal results" making our voice can only send commands to show us email, calendar and contacts through the voice assistant interface, but any additional action requires a unlock with password or fingerprint. Now it has been discovered in the Google 8.39 application the replacement of the "Voice Match" feature by the aforementioned "Lock screen personal results", with which we would only be able to access mail information, calendar and contacts with our voice. If we wanted, for example, to execute a certain application, we would also be asked to unlock by means of a password or fingerprint. Specifically, it can be read that "the voice matching function to unlock the phone, and that you have been using, has been replaced by a more secure way to obtain personal results while your device is locked". At the moment this feature is not enabled in this version of the application, but Google could activate it at any time. 1
