PAULINE FELIPE TRIES TO OVERCOMPOSE HER SLOW HOME

Maracay.- The experienced reliever Felipe Paulino is back in the LVBP and aspires to maintain the elite performance that has characterized him throughout his career.

"I want to leave a good image in this league," said the fire fighter of the Cardinals of Lara. "I know I've been away for a long time, it's time to say that now is when there is Paulino for a while".

Paulino has not had a good start with the red birds, but he hopes to improve during the development of the championship according to his work plan. The right-hander registers a high effectiveness of 10.80 in five innings, spread over seven matches.

"Being in the league again and from the first commitment, is very important for me. Everything has been in order, I'm going at a slow pace, since I come from a long season and I arrived recently. I thank the Cardinals for taking me little by little for November and December, to be 100% ", said Paulino, who in the middle of the 2017-2018 season was traded by the Margarita Braves to the twilight set.

Paulino, who missed a good part of 2013, after undergoing surgery Tommy John, was a prospect of the Houston Astros and reached the majors as an initiator, role in which he developed in much of his career, until a couple of years decided to make the transition to reliever and now to closer.

In that role he shone with the Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League (independent), after leading the circuit with 33 saves, a brand for the franchise. Paulino left 1.18 ERA in 53.1 innings, struck out 72 fans, conceded just 21 tickets and his record was 2-2. A performance that earned him being included in the All-Star Team.

"I have no limitations. I am here to help as much as possible to the team and to the end. I go step by step in October, in the process of adapting after the long season. But my mentality is 100% here, "he said.

After leaving an average of 4.20 earned runs in 15 appearances with Margarita, Paulino improved to 1.80 in 10 challenges with Lara, to close the 2017-2018 tie. A sample of how difficult the circuit can be, in any of its stages, by the talent and the level of the opposing sluggers.

"This is a competition. I am one of those who say that anyone who has a bat in his hand hurts, I do not underestimate anyone. I see all of them as a competition and I always go out to the field to give 100% of my capacity ".

The Cardinals once again started the tournament as candidates for the title and on Thursday they woke up in the first place, tied with the Leones del Caracas.

"This is tremendous, phenomenal. Really, management did an excellent job in gathering this great team from the first day, "said the former big league. "There is a great harmony, a desire to achieve that great step that the Lara state wishes (the LVBP title) and we are in that.
