PRESS LVBP | CARACAS, Spain - Albert Suárez arrived in Venezuela on Monday and is ready to do his training in the 2018-2019 season, when he takes the mound for the Leones del Caracas to face the Caribes de Anzoátegui on Wednesday at the Estadio Universitario.

"I'm happy to be back here. I have not stopped training since the end of the season, I only have two days that I do not do anything for the trip and that's why today (Tuesday), although the team was free, I said I wanted to come to the stadium to let go of my arm, "said Suárez After a light physical training in which he performed gym and threw some balls.

Suarez was one of the most important pieces of the Caraquista rotation last season, however the Arizona Jingle Bells took it in the Rule 5 Draft and had to finish his participation in the team early, with which he could only throw in seven encounters in which he left 3-3 with 2.76 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 32.2 innings.

"Arizona was a new organization for me and maybe the first half was a bit difficult, but little by little things got better, they treated me very well and helped me," Suárez said.

"I think with respect to last year I'm a different pitcher in the physical aspect, I improved my pitches and the location. In the mental area I am the same and it is the level of the league and the batters that dictate the rhythm in which one works, "he added.

The right assures that he arrived fully prepared to integrate the rotation caraquista and premiere on Wednesday opening the game against Caribes. "I'm ready to open tomorrow," he said.

"I know that the first presentations are sometimes a little shorter but I'm ready to go long, it all depends on the game and the situation."

"I come to be a champion," he added. "Here there is no other option and we are ready for whatever comes. I have no restrictions or anything and I hope to be with the team until the end. "

Suarez was aware of the team both in the preseason and in the first four games of the regular round.

"I see them very close and from what I have heard there is a very good relationship with the coaching staff, that is very positive and it is certainly something that will help us win", he concluded.

After Suárez, the caraquista rotation will be completed by Luis Díaz, Adalberto Flores, Anthony Marzi and Dylan Unsworth.
