Insta360 One X

Few action cameras dare to compete, face to face, with GoPro. The new Insta360 One X, is one of them. Thanks to its original system in which you launch the camera as a dart, you can record Matrix type videos.

Sure you remember the mythical bullet time scene of Neo in The Matrix, where the camera slowly rotates around the protagonist, while dodging the bullets. This can not be done with a 360-degree GoPro camera, because what they do is record around the camera, but not around the lens. To get a Matrix-like scene you need a camera drone that moves around the person you want to record ... or Insta360 One X.

Insta360 One X is a conventional action camera, in true GoPro style. But it has a particularity: you can put it inside a rocket to launch it manually, and record Matrix-like scenes while moving through the air. You can see how it works in this video.
Insta360 One X records video at 5.7K resolution and 30 fps. It may seem like a lot of resolution, but in reality it should be distributed throughout the 360-degree scene, which normally does not show everything that is recorded, that's why you need more definition than normal to maintain the image quality with this recording system.

It also records in slow motion at 4K resolution and 50 fps or 3K and 100 fps.

It also has a professional FlowState stabilizer that stabilizes the image when the camera moves in the air, with great results, as can be seen in the video. It even offers the option to customize the stabilization, fixing it on the object or person we want to focus on.

Insta360 One cameras are for sale on Amazon

Insta360 One X includes other semi-professional functions, such as manual exposure, HDR, GPS control and covers that allow recording underwater at 30 meters depth.

The new Insta360 One X, the action camera that is launched as a dart, is priced at $ 399. Soon it will be for sale in Spain.
