If that triumph had taken place against Cubs, Jhoulys would have spectacularly sealed his best campaign in the Majors

JOSÉ LUIS LÓPEZ | CARACAS.- Jhoulys Chacin had to take the final victory of the Milwaukee Brewers against Chicago Cubs to take the title of the National League Central Division, on Monday at Wrigley Field.

But the luck was not so benevolent in that sense, although it is necessary to recognize that it laid the foundations of the definitive victory.

If that victory had taken place on Monday, Jhoulys would have spectacularly sealed his best campaign in the majors.

He kept the Chicago Cubs limited to a run in 5.2 innings in the Brewers 3-1 win. Chacin - who left without decision of the meeting - has thrown very well against the Cubs this season and did not contradict the custom this time. He only accepted one hit in the afternoon, a solo homer by Anthony Rizzo to equalize 1-1 in the fifth act.

Still, it was an impressive exit. Chacín struck out three and walked a couple, including one to open the sixth, which began to cause his exit from the game, but immediately forced a double play with shot to the mound itself.

He lowered his 3.50 ERA in the campaign and given all he's done for the cause in his first lupulous season, his two-year, $ 14 million contract looks like a smart bargain for the Brewers.

Chacín threw a gem and went to shower after making only 75 pitches - 46 in strike - against 18 batters, because the Brewers were determined to call their bullpen early.

Chacin ends in 2018 as perhaps the best year of his career, with the aforementioned effectiveness of 3.50 (his second lowest), WHIP of 1.16, batting average against only .220 points and 15-8 mark. All of them, the best of his career. The same as his new top of strikeouts, which arrived at 156 this Monday.

All those figures are your best cards for a full season. Close it put in the elite. What predicted him so much in the dawn of his career and had not been able to specify. Hopefully, it will endorse it in the postseason and in 2019.
